Picture and Poet is the coming together of Tedi's creativity and Evan's obsessions for visual storytelling. Doing both photo and video has allowed us to be more involved planning process and create a more seamless wedding day experience.
If there is a specific photographer that you are excited to work with, or if we think the video portion would benefit from our full attention, we get along great with photographers who also value the wedding day experience for all who get to be part of it.

Do you offer hourly coverage?
The short answer is: no.
The long answer is: we are here to capture the love story of two people throwing the biggest celebration they will likely ever host. Even if it is meticulously planned down to the minute, your idea of what should be captured is limited to your perspective. Our process, on the other hand, works best when we have the freedom to see the event from our own perspective without limitations. That said, if you're unconventional wedding doesn't fit the mould of our standard full-day coverage, let's chat :)
can you include non-wedding footage in our film?
We want nothing more than to capture the visuals of your life and use them to tell a deeper story that goes beyond your wedding day.
We start with planning a personalized engagement sessions to capture a side of you that won't be seen on your wedding day.
If you are already an avid self-documentarian, we'd love to see what kind of home-footage we could incorporate.
How do you choose music?
Music selection is a very important part of creating your wedding film, but our selection process starts way before we sit down to edit.
First, we take into account your personalities and taste.
Second, we reflect on the energy of the day the energy from the narratives that become the foundation of your film.
Third, we only use high quality licensable music from platforms designed to help artists tell stories.
what days full-day coverage mean?
It means that we think coming to you or your planner just as the party is about to start to ask if you want to pay extra for us to stay late is dumb.
But if we had to define the meaning of a full-day for the contract, it means that we will promise to do our best for 10 hours or until 10 PM. Beyond that, we will continue to be part of the party until we feel content with what we've captured.
Do you charge travel fees?
This all depends on when you book and where we are at with our travel plans. At the moment we are between Manitoba and BC. If your wedding is within a date when we already plan to be in your province, travel fees will be limited, if any.
Regardless of our own plans, if fees are required they will be outlined in your contract when you sign and we will take care of our own travel and accommodation from there.
custom coverage for small weddings?
Love comes in all shapes and sizes, and if there is anything we have learned over the years it's celebrating love isn't limited to big weddings and bigger budgets.
While we do need to preserve our energy across the year so that we can always give our best to each couple, we are always happy for the opportunity to be part of a unique experience.

can you bring lola?
Even if she's not an official vendor, Lola makes for great cocktail hour and reception entertainment, walking between tables getting scritches and cuddles from anyone who offers.
It situations where the venue allows for it and when our home-on-wheels can be parked close by, Lola is an experienced wedding guest. And for the moments that require more of our attention, she spends her time chillin in the air-conditioned van.
